Place First in Halloween Scramble
A bright blue sky and gusty winds greeted the costumed golfers who gathered last Thursday, October 29, for the annual Halloween Scramble at the Catalina Island Golf Course. Witches, animals, and even one of Santa’s elves were there to compete in the tournament sponsored by the Catalina Women’s Golf Club.
Following the tournament, an awards luncheon was held at Steve’s Steakhouse. As always, the restaurant was perfectly outfitted with Halloween decor.
First place honors went to the team with Elizabeth Stewart-Madden, Sue Muller, and Marty Ashleigh. The Second Place team members were Ellen Hodge, Judy Grear and Trina Auen.
The Catalina Island Women’s Golf Club meets each Thursday morning at the Country Club pro-shop to arrange teams and learn about the game of the day. All women golfers, islanders and visitors, are welcome to come and play. Call the pro-shop for more information. 310-510-0530
