On Easter weekend, the Catalina Art Association (CAA) held their Annual Catalina Art Festival & Exhibit (CAFE) on Front Street (Crescent Avenue). It was a fun show that featured local artists, as well as mainland artists, where locals and visitors enjoyed seeing and buying many wonderful creative works of art.

The work of art in this booth was the very popular smart car, making a special
appearance at CAFE it was quite the crowd stopper as people gathered around
to see the perfect size car for island driving. If you missed seeing the Smart Car,
the next time you are on the mainland stop by Mercedes-Benz of Laguna
Niguel.

Forty-two booths, with more than half belonging to local artists, displayed colorful and creative works art that included an array of paintings, drawings, jewelry, photography, and sculpture. This show was the first time local artists outnumbered mainland artists, and the CAA was happy that so many local first-time exhibitors participated.
