It’s the location with the most beautiful view of Avalon and it’s the time each year to celebrate health and wellness. Catalina Island Medical Center reminds you to attend the Community Health Fair on Thursday, April 28, in the Casino Ballroom. From 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. residents and visitors can experience new and exciting things. Basic services are also freely offered. When was the last time you had your vision and blood pressure checked? Would you like to learn how to do CPR? Have you ever tried acupuncture? How about a massage? Nutra, Inc will offer a taste of nutritious foods and smoothies. Take home a Disaster Preparathon Emergency Backpack with a three-day supply of emergency items for a family of four for only $40. You can save hundreds of dollars on blood tests ($25 each) to check cholesterol, thyroid, prostate and more. CIMC will answer questions about medical services, telemedicine, therapy and wellness. Other community groups will have information about events like “Relay for Life.” It’s the one chance this year to get free or discounted health services in one convenient location. Volunteers are still needed and contributions are gladly accepted. For more information please call Catalina Island Medical Center or send your Health Fair donation check to Cristina Grain, CIMC, PO Box 1563 Avalon, CA 90704. See you at the COMMUNITY HEALTH FAIR on Thursday, April 28, from 9:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Casino Ballroom.
