Avalon Goes… live performance in the Casino Theater – March 15, 2015

Revue – A showcase of variety acts.

The story of George Spelvin a lonely accountant who finds himself on stage in a show. He doesn’t remember rehearsing, he knows none of his lines and the show seems to be continually changing around him. This entertaining and fast paced farce will feature a variety of skits, monologues, dances and music. It will be a very eclectic and entertaining show.  The cast is comprised of the Avalon Community Theater group, the Avalon High School Theater Department and the Kids at Play Players.  This live performance will happen in the iconic Avalon Casino Theater. What an amazing venue to see live performances.

Avalon Goes… is a traveling group sponsored by Kids at Play, Children’s Theater Company.  Avalon Goes… mission is to take local students who have an interests in the performing arts, along with other theater enthusiast to experience theater and culture around the world.  This year the group will be traveling to New Zealand.  While on these excursions the participants are amerced with live performances, workshops, cultural experiences and sight seeing but every aspect of the trip is about educating the group about the world of theater.  It has been amazing to see our students from this small town, go out and experience the world.  Avalon Goes… has gone to New York City, Disney World, London, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, Spain, Paris and Greece.  They have seen shows on Broadway and the West End in London.  They have attended the Fringe Festival and the Royal Military Tattoo.  Avalon Goes… has given the students an opportunity to work with professionals all over the world and in some of the most iconic studios.  They have worked with the likes of the Blue Man Group, Cirque Du Soliel and auditioned for Broadway casting directors.  What a great and eye opening experience for all involved.
