Did you know that people with the flu can spread it to others up to six feet away through coughs and sneezes! FLU SHOT Clinics are scheduled at CIMC’s Medical Group Office, 100 Falls Canyon Road. No appointment is necessary. The cost is $25 (payable in cash only).

Clinic dates and times are: Tuesday November 3, from 9:00 a.m. to NOON, and 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.; and Friday, November 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., and 3:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The flu vaccine is the easiest way to protect yourself from the flu. The flu may sound like a minor illness, but it can cause big problems for some people. It can even be deadly. It just takes a few minutes to pay the fee and get a very important “shot in the arm.” Getting the flu vaccine is the single best way to prevent the flu.

Your flu shot cost may be covered under Medicare or the Vaccines for Children Program of Medi-Cal. Keep flu from your family, friends and co-workers.

The Center for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu vaccine for everyone six months of age and older as the first and most important step in protecting against this serious disease. Peak flu season can start as early as October and run through May. The best time to get a flu shot is NOW! It takes about two weeks for the vaccine to take effect.

In addition to getting vaccinated, you can take everyday preventive actions like staying away from sick people and washing your hands to reduce the spread of germs.

If you have never had a flu shot please allow an additional 15-20 minutes after receiving the vaccine to be monitored.
