One of the advantages of living in a close knit community, is all of the local events that help you remember why you love living on Catalina. The Annual Spring Fest, sponsored by the City of Avalon’s Recreation Department is one of those events. Crescent Ave or “Front Street”, as it is referred to by the locals , comes alive with food, music, games and festivities. This event is for the locals to come together, to have fun and fellowship, before the busy summer season hits. The booths are manned by local charity organizations that are raising funds for their individual causes.
The street is filled with the sounds of local musicians and the laughter of children and neighbors as they exchange stories. The air is filled with the delicious smells of a wide variety of homemade goodies and dinner plates. Your heart is filled with the joy and comfort of knowing that you are involved in something special. Spring Fest brings out the best of the community and fills you with community pride. An event that shows the importance of “small town” Americana values and that they are still important. If you happen to be visiting the Island on April 23, 2015 than you are in for a special treat.
The festivities take place on Crescent Ave from 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm. CatalinaFestivals.com hopes to see a huge turnout for the heart warming annual event.
